Double-Take 5.3 Certificate Training Sydney, November, 2011

The course is designed to assist individuals gain the competency and confidence to implement and administer Double-Take solutions. It will assist channel partners and system integrators working across sales and technical support gain practical experience in implementing data protection strategies across multiple storage environments.


 SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA , 2nd & 3rd November, 2011 - Business Continuity Asia Pacific (BCAP), the sole distributor for Double-Take® Software, today announced its training program for Double-Take® 5.3 headed by a two-day instructor lead training course that provides channel partner system engineers through to sales personnel with baseline skills for installing, configuring, and using Double-Take© Availability, Double-Take© RecoverNow, Double-Take© Move and  Double-Take© Share.  
 
The Double-Take® 5.3 certificate training - DTWABM210 - is recommended for those planning to become a Certified Double-Take Professional (CDP).   Training will be personalised and will feature interactive tutorials and workshops.  Participant numbers have been strictly limited to 10 per seminar.  The training will be hosted from 9.00am to 5.00pm in:
 
According to Viktor Babkov, Managing Director, (BCAP) Business Continuity Asia Pacific, The Double-Take® 5.3 certificate training provides the foundation for installing, configuring, and using Double-Take® in a Microsoft Windows® environment. 
“The course is designed to assist individuals gain the competency and confidence to implement and administer Double-Take solutions. It will assist channel partners and system integrators working across sales and technical support gain practical experience in implementing data protection strategies across multiple storage environments.”
“Participants will gain experience in using key features of Double-Take including Command Language, orphan file control, bandwidth limiting, advanced scripting options, and compression,” he said.
 
“They will learn how to use Double-Take Reporting Center for statistical analysis and various performance monitor tools for troubleshooting.  Course learning labs will be used to assist participants use Double-Take Server Recovery Option, Full Server Failover for complete server protection, and the Double-Take Application Manager for both MS SQL Server and MS Exchange,” he said. 
Application-level labs for failover using Double Take, High-Availability for MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 using Double Take, and the Exchange Protection Wizard (XPW) are included in the course as well as:
  • Protecting and failing over an entire Server to another Server
  • Protecting, Failing over and Failing Back an Exchange 2007 or SQL 2008 server
  • Continuous Data Protection and restoration using Double-Take RecoverNow
  • Protecting a Hyper-V Virtual Machine using Host based replication
  • Protecting a Server to Hyper-V or ESX Virtual Machine
  • Protecting a Hyper-V Virtual Machine using Host Based Replication
Babkov said participants will gain most success from the Double-Take® 5.3 Certificate Training if they have intermediate knowledge of the Windows© 2003/2008 Server interface and familiarity with its terminology including connecting to network shares, using the Windows Explorer© to cut, paste, copy files, add or connect to network shares/drives, and navigate the Windows© operating system without instruction.
 
“They are also likely to have experience with graphical user administration tools on a network and have hands-on experience with computer hardware and software. Have installed Windows 2003/2008 Server© and service packs. Use the Windows event viewer to troubleshoot system issues. Double-Take software has over 22,000 customers and 210,000 across the globe.
